A solution to avoid tears when cutting onions. Put an onion in the fridge for half an hour or in the refrigerator for several minutes before cutting.

Wilted lettuce? Spices don't look well? Put them for a second in cold water with some potato flour. It takes just a single spoon, and they'll look tasty and regain freshness!

Having problems with slicing bacon into small pieces? Use sharp scissors! They are perfect for cutting and slicing bacon, ham, and salami. Bacon is usually sold without skin, but with sharp kitchen scissors you can quickly and easily cut the excess of fat off before frying or slice into small pieces. With scissors you can also cut fried bacon, hold it with kitchen tongs, if it's hot.
